Cast & Blast started in 2003 by Fritz and Ric Heller to bring a group of guys to Northern Michigan and bird hunt for a long weekend. Since that first fall in 2003 Cast & Blast has grown to 10+ members and five full days of non stop hunting. We have shared many great stories, pictures, lies, mis-fires & meals as a great group of friends. Below are just a few of the Grouse Commanders outings and all that have taken part. Ric Heller Sr. "Big Ric"
Big R is the one that got the Heller boys started in their hunting and fishing adventures, opens up his cabin every year for our camp and makes a mean "Big Ric Breakfast"
Sgt. Eddie Beekman USMC "G & T"
Eddie is a long time family friend of the Heller's who has fallen in love with upland hunting and always creates a good laugh and a good time. OOH RAH

Steve Kushion "Food Czar"
Steve is a jack of all trades when it comes to hunting and fishing but most importantly he is known for his keen ability to smell a southern omelet from no less then two miles away!
Brad Adamson "B Rad"
Brad is a Cast and Blast original who is always ready for a good time. He is flashy and sporty in all aspect of his hunting style.
Dan Hartley "Cousin Dan"
Dan is the DJ of the group rocking out karaoke every chance he has. He is big but athletic and is known to "Rarely" wear pants for pictures.
Doctor Nathan March "Team Doc and Cigar Aficionado"
The good Doctor is always having a good time and is known for his handles of crown, boxes of fine cigars and his tailgate sandwich bars.
Vinny Walsh "Wild Bill"
The man on a mission for the perfect shot. With a camera. Vinny is known for always getting the photo that is worth a thousand words. Obviously killing doesn't matter to him as he shoots an EXTRA EXTRA full choke.
Bernie Boots- The Boot Conquistador aka "Chubby Buddy the videographer"
